Uzbek joint-stock company Uzagroexport invites foreign companies to take part in investment projects on construction of modern logistics centers in Uzbekistan, the representative of the Uzbek company told Trend on July 17.

According to the information, new logistics centers are planned to be established in six regions of the country, facilitating modern technologies for cold storage, packaging, calibration and processing of fresh fruits and vegetables.

The representative of the company noted that the work is already underway in this direction and increased attention is paid to development of the logistics infrastructure in Uzbekistan.

“In 2010, modern facilities for storing fruit and vegetable products in a neutral gas environment were put into operation on the territory of the Navoi free industrial and economic zone. The products are later supplied by international air transport to the countries of Europe and Asia,” the company reminded.

The representative of Uzagroexport added that for this purpose capacities of the intermodal logistics center are used on the basis of the Navoi international airport, which is managed by the Korean Air.

“In 2017, the Angren-Pap modern electrified railway was commissioned with construction of a unique 19-kilometer tunnel across the Kamchik pass, which effectively connects the Ferghana Valley regions with the rest of Uzbekistan,” the company said.

According to the representative of the joint-stock company, up to 10 million tons of cargo, including fruit and vegetable products for export deliveries, will be transported by this railway annually.

The Uzagroexport JSC was established in line with the decree of the president of Uzbekistan on April 7, 2016.

The main tasks of the new organization were to ensure promotion of domestic fresh and processed fruit and vegetable products for export, establish permanent contacts with reliable foreign partners, search for and assimilate new markets, study demand and supply in foreign markets, and conduct in-depth marketing research.

Within the framework of Uzagroexport’s operations, an UzAgro brand was created for export of fruit and vegetable products. The brand is aimed at guaranteeing the high quality of products and services provided to partners in any part of the world.

Thanks to the unified stable trademark, fresh and processed products of agriculture and food industry of Uzbekistan under the UzAgro brand will be able to find their place in the international market.
