Uzbek export-import insurance company triples volume of premiums

In the 1H2018, the Uzbek national export-import insurance company Uzbekinvest raised premiums worth 112 billion soums, which is three times more compared to the 1H2017, the company said.

According to the information, a threefold increase in premiums became possible as a result of development of the regional and agent network, development and promotion of new topical products and carrying out intensive marketing activities.

The volume of current liabilities reinsured in foreign insurance companies for projects implemented in Uzbekistan by foreign investors and contractors from the United States, Japan, South Korea, Germany, Russia, Switzerland and other countries under the state development programs of Uzbekistan was $21.7 billion with a term of action until 2024.

The volume of insurance premiums collected from individuals amounted to 12.6 billion soums, which is 2.6 times more than in the same period last year. The number of clients (individuals) amounted to 160,600 people (a 231-percent increase).

The company made payments on insured events to the population and legal entities in the amount of 11.5 billion soums (a 132-percent increase).

In the 1H2018, the investment portfolio of the company increased by 192 percent compared to the 1H2017 and amounted to 710.9 billion soums, 255 billion soums of which were placed in commercial banks in the form of deposit funds, and another 439 billion soums were invested in shares of large organizations.
