Kazakhstan’s foreign trade turnover in January-August 2018 amounted to $59.8 billion, which is 21.6 percent more than in the same period of 2017, Statistics Committee of Kazakh National Economy Ministry said in a report.
Exports for the first 8 months of this year amounted to $39.1 billion (up by 28.2 percent year-on-year), and imports - to $20.7 billion (up by 10.8 percent).
Meanwhile, the cargo turnover in Kazakhstan in January-September 2018 totaled 438,129 billion ton-kilometers, which is 8.9 percent more than in the same period of 2017.
In particular, there is an increase in rail freight turnover by 10.2 percent. The cargo transportation amounted to 2.945 billion tons (up by 5.9 percent year-on-year).
The passenger traffic reached 208,987 billion passenger-kilometers (up by 4.2 percent). The increase in passenger traffic in road transport was 3.7 percent, and in air transport - 15.8 percent.
