University of Future to appear in Uzbekistan
Baku, Azerbaijan, Oct. 26
The Ministry of Innovation Development of Uzbekistan signed a $40 million agreement for creation of the “University of the Future”, Uzbek media reported.
The document was signed with the City University of Hong Kong, Udacity, Iversity and Open Polytechnic of New Zealand.
Foreign partners, as part of the document, will invest their own funds worth $40 million in the project to create a remote higher educational institution, University of the Future, in Uzbekistan.
The project provides for the introduction into the educational process of advanced pedagogical and information technologies, the latest achievements of science and technology.
For this, the necessary conditions will be created for the functioning of the electronic information and educational environment, which includes electronic information resources (in Uzbek and Russian) and which provides full education programs for about 50,000 students per year, regardless of their location.
When assessing students’ knowledge, their results will be received and stored in a database in New Zealand. This factor will serve as a guarantor to prevent corruption during the exams.
In addition, at the main office and branches of the university, certification exams will be held with the provision of verification of the student’s identity and control of the examination procedure. For this, a system will be used that passed many years of testing in New Zealand.
