Trend:

In the summer of 2018, after a long break and the first stage of modernization of production lines at the Samarkand cigarette factory to meet the technological requirements of export markets, UZBAT company resumed exports of finished products, Uzbek media reported.

In June, the export of Uzbek products of a high-priced segment to Kyrgyzstan started, and in July, shipments of cigarette charcoal filters of the super slim format produced by the cigarette factory to the BAT plant in the city of Pryluky (Ukraine) began.

Continuing to expand the scope and geographic coverage of the new project “Transformation of the Samarkand cigarette factory into an export hub for Central Asia and some other countries”, supported by the London headquarters of the BAT group, in October 2018 UZBAT JV started developing new export markets - Kazakhstan and Mongolia.

On October 22 and 25, in accordance with previously concluded agreements with BAT Kazakhstan Trading LLP and a Mongolian distributor, a motorcade of four heavy trucks left Samarkand for Almaty, and two car trailers with more than 3 million packs of cigarettes of the medium price and premium segments left for Ulaanbaatar.
