In January-October 2018, 61,616 ships arrived in Turkish ports, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.
The ministry stated that 32,724 vessels sailing under the flag of Turkey and 28,892 vessels sailing under the flags of other countries arrived in Turkish ports during this period.
The gross registered tonnage of all vessels during the mentioned period amounted to 684,248,944 tons.
The gross registered tonnage of the vessels arriving in Turkish ports under the flag of Turkey amounted to 125,615,069 tons, and the gross registered tonnage of the vessels under the flags of other countries was 558,633,875 tons, the ministry stated.
The ministry noted that in October 2018, 6,168 ships arrived in Turkish ports.
The ministry also noted that in October, 3,331 vessels sailing under the flag of Turkey and 2,837 vessels sailing under the flags of other countries arrived in Turkish ports.
The gross registered tonnage of all vessels in October 2018 amounted to 70,187,828 tons.
The gross registered tonnage of the vessels arriving in Turkish ports under the flag of Turkey amounted to 12,645,774 tons, and the gross registered tonnage of the vessels arriving under the flags of other countries was 57,542,054 tons, the ministry stated.
