In January-November 2018, according to customs declarations, Azerbaijan exported 1.38 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, which is 47.55 percent more compared to the same period of 2017, Trend reports referring to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.
During the reported period, Azerbaijan exported electricity worth $65 million (57.7 percent increase over the year).
In 2017, according to the customs declarations, Azerbaijan exported 1.16 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, which was worth $50.97 million.
The main producer of electricity in Azerbaijan is Azerenergy OJSC, which has hundreds of substations and dozens of power plants on its balance sheet.
Azerbaijan’s power plants generated 19.023 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in January-October 2018. Some 18.29 billion kilowatt hours of the total electricity generated in January-October 2018 accounted for commercial electricity, which is 1.9 percent more than in January-October 2017.
