Housing prices up in Kazakhstan

Prices in the secondary housing market of Astana increased by 11.3 percent year-on-year, Trend reports with reference to the Kazakh media.

According to the Statistics Committee of the Kazakh National Economy Ministry, the maximum year-on-year increase in secondary housing in November 2018 was also recorded in Kyzylorda (6.8 percent), Kostanay (3.7 percent) Shymkent (3.1 percent) and Almaty (1.2 percent). At the same time, a negative trend was observed in Aktau (7.1 percent), Taraz (4.8 percent) and Aktobe (1.9 percent).

In general, average prices for secondary housing in Kazakhstan rose by 1.7 percent in the period.

In November, the most expensive apartments in the secondary market were in Astana (350,100 tenge per square meter), Almaty (343,900 tenge) and Atyrau (261,900 tenge). The cheapest apartments were in Kyzylorda (132,100 tenge per square meter), Zhezkazgan (143,900 tenge) and Aktobe (148,600 tenge).

As for the primary housing market, the average price increased by 2.2 percent year-on-year, with the maximum growth in Astana (5.5 percent), Shymkent (5.4 percent) and Petropavl (3.7 percent). The fall in prices for new apartments was observed only in Kokshetau (4.5 percent).

As a result, the most expensive primary housing is in Astana (337,600 tenge per square meter), Almaty (327,400 tenge) and Atyrau (326,300 tenge). The minimum prices are in Taraz, Petropavl and Kyzylorda: 116,000, 140,000 and 141,000 tenge per square meter, respectively.
