The Neopan plant, which suspended its activity in the Khalkhal County of Iran's Ardabil Province, has been handed over to a private investor and will resume its activity within the next 10 days, Governor of Khalkhal County Fereydoun Babaei said.
The plant stopped to operate two years ago and its 250 workers became jobless, Babaei added, Trend reports referring to IRNA.
The plant intends to resume activity and conditions were created for workers to return to the plant, he said.
The Neopan plant can supply 140 square meters of chipboard and 215 square meters of melamine sheets to the market daily, Babaei said.
Neopan, the biggest industrial plant in the region, was commissioned by the Mostazafan Foundation in 1993 and suspended its activity for various reasons in 2016.
