This year, 115,000 apartments will be built in Kazakhstan, Trend reports referring to the Kazakh media.

"In general, this year we plan to build 13 million square meters of new housing within the Nurly Zher state program. Over 20,000 apartments, or 1.3 million square meters, are planned to be built through state investments," Deputy Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Kairbek Uskenbayev said at a briefing.

He added that last year, 12.5 million square meters of housing was commissioned, which is 12.1 percent higher compared to 2017. As a result, more than 113,000 families improved their living conditions.

Uskenbayev also stressed that the 7-20-25 mortgage lending program launched on behalf of the head of state gave impetus to the development of housing construction in Kazakhstan.

"Since the beginning of its implementation, about 7,000 applications from citizens willing to receive preferential loans totaling 82 billion tenge have been received. For the effective implementation of the 7-20-25 program, amendments were made to the Nurly Zher program," Uskenbayev added.
