Export from Iran's Kermanshah Province up by 54%

Exports of goods through customs and border markets of Iran’s eastern Kermanshah Province increased by 54 percent during the 10 months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), Khalil Heydari, Director General of Kermanshah Customs Administration, told IRNA, Trend reports.

According to Heydari, growth has been recorded when compared to the same period last year, and exports increased by 38 percent in terms of weight.

"Some 4.56 million tons products worth $2.19 billion were exported from the country through the customs and border markets of Kermanshah Province during this period," he said, noting that 2,35 million tons of products worth $966 million were exported through Kermanshah’s Parvizkhan customs point alone, which shows “a 130-percent increase in value and a 103-percent increase in weight compared to the same period last year."

The customs official also said that about 937,000 tons of products worth about $835 million were exported through the Sumar border market over the mentioned period. He added that exports of products increased by 33 percent in terms of value and by 12 percent in terms of weight, compared to the same period last year.

According to Heydari, 359,000 tons of products worth about $183 million were exported from the Sheikh Salleh customs point.

Mentioning that 480,000 tons of products worth $163 million were exported from the Khosravi customs point, Heydari said that the export of goods from Khosravi rose by 125 percent in terms of value and by 69 percent in terms of weight compared to the same period last year.

"About 439,000 tons of products worth $44 million were exported from the Paveh border market. This export has increased by 9 percent in terms of value and 33 percent in terms of weight compared to the same period last year," he said.

Heydari remarked that the exported goods mainly consist of home appliances, detergents, rubber, potatoes, cellophane, tomato, ceramic, onion and garlic, cucumber and pickled cucumbers, apple, polyethylene granules.

Iran's Kermanshah Province has 371 km-long border with Iraq. There are 6 customs and border markets operating in the province. About half of Iran's non-oil exports to Iraq pass through this province.
