Some 33 livestock enterprises of Kazakhstan’s Turkistan region and Shymkent have again received the right to export livestock products to Uzbekistan, Trend reports via Kazakh media.
The enterprises received this right following the joint inspection by the veterinary services of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
The total capacity of feedlots inspected in the Turkistan region is 78,850 heads of cattle, 61,150 heads of small cattle, and 3,800 horses and camels.
The Kazakh enterprises are ready to export 18,000 tons of red meat and 500 tons of poultry products to Uzbekistan.
Last year, Kazakhstan exported 3.95 million tons (27 percent more than in 2017) of agricultural products to Uzbekistan in the amount of $634 million (34.5 percent more than in 2017).
Also, compared to 2017, exports of livestock products to Uzbekistan increased almost 20 times in 2018.
