Biggest sheep feedlot to appear in Kazakhstan's Turkistan region

A feedlot for 100,000 sheep will appear in the Turkistan region of Kazakhstan, Trend reports citing a message by Turkistan Invest.

The Turkish company Salurbey Group is the investor of the project. Construction of the feedlot with a total cost of $20 million will begin in June 2019.

The territory of the complex will be 2,500 hectares, where there will be 11 shops for processing wool, leather, production of milk, kefir, cheese, yoghurt and meat.

It is also planned to grow food for sheep, as well as to build a laboratory where specialists will monitor the health of animals.

The expected annual capacity of the feedlot is 100,000 heads of Edilbay, Romanov and Merino sheep.

As part of the project, 1,200 people will be provided with permanent jobs. The products will be exported to the CIS countries and Turkey.
