Russian Copper Company (RCC) plans to start mining of copper-zinc ore at three new deposits in Kazakhstan this year, Trend reports via TASS.
"In 2019, enterprises of RCC Kazakhstan division will start ore mining at the Aralchin, Kundyzdy and Liman deposits," the company said.
The ore from the three new deposits, in addition to the two operating ones, will increase the share of copper-zinc ore from 50 to 75 percent in the total volume of raw materials processed.
It is noteworthy that changing the characteristics of the raw material base requires re-equipment and modernization of the concentrating factories of Aktobe Copper Company (RCC subsidiary). For this, RCC plans to allocate 872.6 million rubles ($13.23 million).
Russian Copper Company is a metallurgical company operating in Russia and Kazakhstan. RCC incorporates more than 30 mining and metallurgical enterprises.
Production capacity of RCC allows to produce more than 220,000 tons of copper cathode and 235,000 tons of copper rod per year.
