Turkmenistan, Israel mull prospects for co-op in trade & agriculture

Political consultations between the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and Israel took place in Israel, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

From the Israeli side, the negotiations were headed by Deputy Director General of the Israeli Foreign Ministry Alexander Ben-Zvi.

An exchange of views took place on the development of trade and economic relations, in particular in agriculture and water use, the report said. The parties also discussed the issues of boosting relations in the field of healthcare, innovations and technologies.

Israel has offered its services in the field of cleaning, desalination and rational use of water resources.

In May 2018, a meeting with representatives of the Mitrelli Group (Israel) was held at the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET).

The head of the Israeli delegation, Haim Taib, drew attention to the fact that Mitrelli Group is a major exporter of high technology solutions in the field of agricultural industry. A representative of the Sycamore Capital, a UK investment bank, also took part in the negotiations.

During the meeting, issues of cooperation on the implementation of a number of investment projects were discussed.

The productivity of interaction with Israeli companies in the agricultural sector was noted, taking into account the similarity of climatic conditions of the two countries.

Turkmenistan grows cotton, wheat, rice and sugar beet.
