Kazakhstan's first maritime feeder system launched on Caspian

In April 2019 a grand opening of Kazakhstan’s first maritime feeder ship system within the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route took place, Trend reports via Kazakh media.

"Kazakhstan’s feeder ship "Turkestan" was loaded with containers to depart for Baku, Azerbaijan," reads the message.

The new system is to enhance the traffic volume of Trans-Caspian International Transport Route and to further develop the containerization of the shipments in the Caspian sea.

Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) is a key component of Eurasian transport routes in the region and it is complementary to the system of transit routes of Kazakhstan. This is a direct route from Kazakhstan and China to countries of Caucasus and to Turkey. All transportation routes are to meet the requirements of the national and international on safety of navigation.
