Kazakhstan plans to increase alumina export

In January-March 2019 Aluminum of Kazakhstan JFC exported 195,000 tons of alumina, compared to the 248,000 tons in 1Q2018, Trend reports via Kazakh media.

“Thus, the alumina export increased by 21.4 percent in January-March 2019 in comparison with the same period of 2018,” the report said.

“The decrease of the export is due to the decrease in manufacturing in 1Q2019,” reads the message.

The company is planning on increasing the export by 4 percent in 2020 compared to the targeted numbers in 2019.

“The targeted volume of alumina export in 2019 totals 924,000 tons. In 2020 the export is expected to amount up to 960,000 tons,” the statement said.

Aluminum of Kazakhstan JFC exports to Russia, Chine and Tajikistan.
