In the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), Iran's local manufacturers will supply all of the necessary equipment the country's ports and maritime industry needs, said Mohammad Rastad, Iranian Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and Managing Director of the Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran, Trend reports via Young Journalists Club (YJC).
This year, Iran will use its own potential to supply its ships, Rastad said.
He added that one of the most important development programs in the current year is about improving the infrastructure of three container terminals of Iran's Shahid Rajaee port.
Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization is considering to give loans to the private sector to support domestic ship building industry, he said.
