Kazakhstan increases its gold reserves

As at the June 1, 2019 the volume of gold reserves of Kazakhstan increased by 6.1 percent compared to the beginning of the year and amounted to 366.6 tons, Trend reports via World Gold Council’s press office.

“Furthermore, the gold reserves account for 55.9 percent of the foreign-exchange reserves of Kazakhstan,” the report said.

“Currently Kazakhstan is 14th among other countries by the volume of this precious metal reserves (excluding the International Monetary Fund),” reads the message.

“In turn, the first three places of the list account for the US, Germany and Italy, the gold reserves of which account for 8,100 tons, 3,300 tons and 2,400 tons respectively,” the statement said.

“Furthermore, Russia is the fifth on the list with the volume of gold reserves of 2,200 tons and China is sixth with the reserves volume of 1,900 tons,” the press office said.
