Azerbaijan's trade and production company Halvachi Yahya, engaged in production of Sheki halva, sweets and flour products, plans to increase production volumes, Ramin Samadov, the company's director, told Trend.

He said that the company produces 150-160 kilograms of Sheki halva daily.

"This product forms the basis of production at our enterprise, and is fully sold on the domestic market," Samadov noted. "The total daily production volume is 250 kilograms. However, the production capacity of our enterprise allows for increasing these volumes twice, and we can produce up to 500 kilograms of products per day."

The director noted that the company plans to increase production volumes in order to export products to neighboring countries.

"We consider the Russian market as a promising direction and the most optimal," he said. "We are looking for partners in Russia and are ready for big orders."

Samadov noted that the company’s products are sold in a specialized store of the company. The retail price of one kilogram of halva is six manats, he added.

"We use nuts and hazelnuts in the production of Sheki halva, and we buy them in Zagatala and Gakh districts of Azerbaijan," he said. "The price of one kilogram of Sheki halva made from nuts is more expensive than halva made from hazelnuts and is nine manats per kilogram."

The production facilities of the company are located in Sheki district.
