Uzbekistan boosts co-op with Russia's Tatarstan in agriculture

Uzbekistan is ready to invest in the construction of a wholesale distribution center in Russia's Tatarstan, Trend reports with reference to Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan.

As reported, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov met with the delegation of Bukhara region of Uzbekistan led by Deputy Governor of the region Sanatillo Hikmatov in Kazan city, the capital of Tatarstan, at the Palace of Farmers.

The parties discussed the prospects for cooperation in the field of agriculture and trade between Tatarstan and Uzbekistan, which, according to the results of 2018, increased markedly, reaching $146 million.

Ministry of Agriculture notes that Uzbekistan is ready to cooperate with Tatarstan, in particular, in such areas as manufacturing dairy, wine and poultry products.

The Uzbek side noted that a large-scale greenhouse construction project is being implemented in the Bukhara region, within the framework of which about 1,000 hectares of greenhouses for growing vegetables were built over the year.

Uzbekistan is ready to consider cooperation in export, as well as invest in the construction of a wholesale distribution center in Tatarstan for the storage, primary processing, packaging and sale of vegetable products, reads the message.
