The planned level of localization of the production of the new Chevrolet Onix sedan in Uzbekistan will be 60 percent, Trend reports with reference to the Uzbekistan 24 TV channel.
Localization figures are planned to be achieved by 2022–2023.
The number of imported parts of Onix is expected to be 450, local parts - 600; Damas - 642 imported and 323 local; Lacetti - 763 and 283; Spark - 625 and 288; Nexia - 653 and 289; and - Cobalt 473 and 417.
The cost of foreign-made parts on Onix is estimated at $2,300, while local - $4,200; Lacetti - $4,319 and $2,938; Spark - $ 2,393 and $2,984; Nexia - $2,995 and $3,500; Cobalt - $2,656 and $3,488; and Tracker – $4,000 and $6,400.
It was noted that the final cost of the car is also affected by the costs of logistics, labor, bank loans and other costs.
The graphics shows that the localization level of Lacetti will be 38 percent, Spark - 49 percent, Nexia - 49 percent, Cobalt - 52 percent, Tracker - 57 percent and Onix - 60 percent.
As was reported, company GM Uzbekistan company (now UzAuto Motors) is preparing to release, in addition to three new models in the expensive segment (Equinox, Traverse and Trailblazer), three models in a more affordable segment, namely two sedans including Onix, and a crossover (new Tracker).
Officially, plans to release Onix were not confirmed. UzAuto Motors only noted that work is ongoing on launching the production of affordable models worth $10,000 and $15,000, as well as on the modernization of production for this purpose in the amount of $ 500 million.
