There are plans to open a facility for processing livestock products in one of Azerbaijani districts, Sakina Babayeva, head of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan, told Trend.
She said that the facility will be engaged in washing and cleaning sheep’s wool and hide in the Gadabay district.
“There are plans to open similar facilities in ten districts of Azerbaijan in the next two years,” she noted. “The work has already begun in this direction. One or two facilities in the districts may be opened by the end of the year. Basically, this is intended for the export of processed livestock products, with the main market for sales be Turkey.”
She noted that similar facilities in the districts will be created by the state, with the direct participation of the Association.
“We consider it important to open new small facilities of this type for the development of the private sector and for the export of livestock products,” said Babayeva.
The Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan was established with the support of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of Azerbaijan in October 2017.
Over 143,000 women are engaged in business in Azerbaijan, according to the statistics.
