Uzbekistan to sign 3 agriculture agreements with Kyrgyzstan

Three agreements are planned to be signed in the field of agriculture within the framework of the working visit of Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov to Kyrgystan on August 1, Trend reports citing Kyrgyz media.

Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Erkinbek Choduev has announced this during a press-conference in Bishkek.

He stated that the first document will be signed on plant quarantine, where certain conditions will be indicated for the import and export of agricultural products, including plants.

The second document concerns the supply of mineral fertilizers from Uzbekistan. The contractor will be the Ministry of Agriculture, which will determine quotas and distribute fertilizers by region.

Private Kyrgyz companies, as before, will supply mineral fertilizers from Uzbekistan, mainly ammonium nitrate, carbamide and aphomos.

Uzbekistan annually supplies up to 100,000 tons of mineral fertilizers to Kyrgyzstan, read the message.

Prime Minister added that the Ministries of Agriculture of the two countries will also sign a roadmap, which is the third document. It implies bilateral cooperation in the field of agriculture. Issues of export and import, as well as the leasing issue will be discussed, read the message.
