Kazakhstan preparing project on import substitution

The project worth 400 million tenge, which aims at the import substitution will be implemented in Kazakhstan’s Karaganda region, Trend reports with reference to the LS news agency.

“Thus, the manufacturing of activated charcoal from coke breeze is to be launched in the region. Currently the project is at the stage of commissioning work,” the report said.

Furthermore, in accordance to the agency, the estimated capacity of the plant is up to 1,000 tons of product a year. The full launch of the manufacturing is planned for 1H2020.

“The project will allow to meet 15-20 percent of the demand on the local market, thus substituting the imported goods. There is also a possibility to launch export of charcoal in the future,” the statement said.

Kazakhstan support local manufacturing development in order to strengthen county’s economy, create new work places and ventures, as well as to improve the quality of life of residents.
