The export of goods through the border checkpoint of Bilasuvar district in Iran’s north-eastern Ardabil province increased by 27 percent during five months (March 21–July 22) of this Iranian year (March 21, 2019) compared to the same period of last Iranian year, Ali Rahmati, Director General of the Road and Road Transport Department of Ardabil province, said.
Some 175,000 tons of products were exported during five months, Rahmati added, Trend reports referring to IRNA.
He noted that bricks and ceramics, glass, salt, brass and metals were exported through the Bilasuvar border checkpoint. These products were exported to Azerbaijan, Russia and Georgia on 7,910 trucks, Rahmati said.
Some 73,400 tons of the goods were transited through the Bilasuvar border checkpoint. Among these goods were mainly cement, Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF), gypsum and building stones.
Rahmati added that 96 percent of these products were transported by Azerbaijani trucks, and the rest volume on Iranian and Turkish trucks.
