The loading volume of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (Kazakhstan Railways) has amounted to 22 million tons this August, Trend reports with reference to the press office of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy.
The lading volume of coal amounted to 8.6 million tons, including over six million tons within the country. The loading of grain equaled over 400,000 tons, including 387,000 tons of export.
Operational freight turnover in August of this year amounted to 19 billion net tons-km.
During first eight months of 2019, the loading volume of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy amounted to over 165 million tons of cargo. The volume of coal amounted to over 65 million tons, including over 44 million tons within the country, whereas the volume of grain equaled 6.4 million tons, including 4.3 million tons of export.
Operational freight turnover in January-August amounted to over 146 billion net tons-km, which is 0.6 percent more compared to the same period of last year.
Compared to the same period last year, operational performance indicators such as the performance of a locomotive (increase of two percent) and a freight car (increase of 2.8 percent), local and technical freight train speeds, working car turnover (increase of 2.2 percent) were improved.
