Russia’s Metrowagonmash company has held a ceremonial send-off of five subway trains to Uzbekistan’s Tashkent, Trend reports with reference to the press office of Transmashholding.

Each train consists of two head motor cars, one intermediate motor car, one intermediate non-motor car. The service life of cars is 30 years.

The contract for the supply of five four-car trains for the Tashkent metro was signed in October 2018. The manufacturer will also supply a set of spare parts and materials necessary for the maintenance of subway cars of this series, and will provide consulting services for maintenance personnel.

A number of technological innovations have been implemented in subway cars manufactured for the Tashkent metro. Trains have a through passage and wider doorways compared to previous models, as well as a new light warning system for opening and closing doors.

For a new generation of subway cars, low-stress wheels with sound absorbers have been developed. The design uses a modern asynchronous traction drive, environmentally friendly materials, and reliable sound and heat insulation of cars is ensured. The head cars have wheelchair seats. The salons have air conditioning, ventilation and air disinfection systems.
