A meeting of the Uzbek-Russian group of the intergovernmental commission was held via video conference at Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Trend reports citing Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Agriculture.
At a meeting led by Uzbekistan’s Minister of Agriculture Zhamshid Khodjaev and Russian Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sergey Levin, the Russian side was requested to expedite the process of issuing permits for the export to Russia from the GoldenFishGroup company of Uzbekistan.
General director of Russian RosAgroMarket LLC Evgeny Nekrasov announced that the corresponding work is being carried out on the first wholesale distribution center planned to be commissioned in the second quarter of 2020 in Russian Novosibirsk Region. This center will manage the trade flow for products imported from Central Asian states. The Marketplace information platform will allow distributing products collected from warehouses within a radius of 700 km from the center.
The parties agreed on development of the project to integrate the activities of agrology centers in resolving issues related to the formation of a system for sending large volumes of fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan to Russia.
In addition, at the request of the Russian side, the parties agreed to exchange the Eel fish seeds next year. The deputy chairman of Uzbekistan’s Uzbekbaliksanoat Association Shukhrat Rakhmatov said that the local enterprises that are members of the association are ready to deliver the required amount of eel seeds to the Russian side.
During the conversation, the sides also discussed the prospects of cultivating a camelina in Uzbekistan as a pilot project for further exporting it to Russia for processing and use it in the aviation fuel. The parties agreed to deliver the required amount of seeds for the test within a short time.
