Iron ore output of large Iran's companies up by 4%

In the first six months (from March 21 to Sept. 22, 2019) of the current Iranian year, the iron ore concentrate production of large Iran's companies increased by 4 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, Trend reports referring to the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

During the reported period, large Iranian companies produced 23.7 million tons of iron ore concentrate. For comparison, this figure was 22.7 million tons in the same period last year.

Iran ore concentrate was mainly produced by Gol-E-Gohar Iron Ore Company (8.17 million tons), Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company (5.11 million tons), Middle East Mines & Mineral Industries Development Holding Company (2.56 million tons), Iran Central Iron Ore Company (2.49 million tons), Gohar Zamin Iron Ore Company (2.16 million tons), Opal Persian Sangan Industrial & Mining Company (1.47 million tons), NIMIDCO (1.04 million tons), Sabanour Mining and Industrial Development Company (461,000 tons), Jalalabad Iron Ore Complex (250,000 tons).

According to the report, during the reported six-month period, five large mining companies produced approximately 2.36 million tons of iron ore gravels, which indicates a 40 percent decrease compared to the same period last year (3.95 million tons).

Iron ore gravels were mainly produced by Sabanour Mining and Industrial Development Company (1.1 million tons), Iranian Central Plateau Iron Ore Mines Complex (470,000 tons), Iran Central Iron Ore Company (315,000 tons), Sangan Iron Ore Complex (247,000 tons), Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company (224,000 tons).

Iran's six largest iron ore pellets manufacturers (Chadormalu, Gol-E-Gohar, Middle East Mines & Mineral Industries Development Holding Company, Opal Persian Sangan Industrial & Mining Company, Sangan Steel Mining Company, Sabanour) produced 13.5 million tons of iron ore pellets in the reported six-month period, which indicates 2 percent decrease compared to the same period last year.
