Some 100 billion rials (about $2.38 million) have been allocated for the construction of the Bam-Jiroft railway in Iran’s south-eastern Kerman province, Iranian MP Yahya Kamalipur said.

The government planned to allocate 360 billion rials (about $8.57 million) for this railway project this year (from March 21, 2019 to March 21, 2020), Kamalipur added, Trend reports to IRNA.

The MP added that the contractor has carried out the work worth 30 billion rials (about $714,000).

After the allocation of funds, the contractor will resume the operations, Kamalipur said.

The contractor has suspended the work for a week due to the lack of funds.

The construction of some 27 kilometers of the 94 kilometer-Bam-Jiroft railroad was launched on November 15 last year. There will be six stations on this railway.
