Over 30 infrastructure projects to be implemented in Kazakhstan

Some 36 projects via public private partnership are being implemented in areas of Kazakhstan’s industry, which are being supervised by Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development, Kazakh Minister of Industry and Infrastructural Development Beibut Atamkulov, Trend reports with reference to the press office of prime minister of Kazakhstan.

According to the minister, out of 36 projects, nine are of republican significance and 27 are of regional significance.

Atamkulov added that within the framework of construction and operation of the Big Almaty Ring Road project highway, construction and installation work is underway. The Board of Directors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development approved the financing of the project on October 14, concessionaires will be provided with financial closure before the end of this year. The highway will start operating in 2021.

Furthermore, implementation of the open toll system project will allow to introduce system of fares for driving through territory of 11,000 km of road of republican significance. Signing of a corresponding agreement is planned in December of this year.

Within the framework of the construction of a railway line bypassing the Almaty station with a length of 73.2 km project, the results of the first auction have been summed up. Two Kazakh-Chinese consortiums passed qualification selection. Furthermore, tender documentation for the second stage of the competition was developed in order to select a private partner. The agreement signing is planned for December of this year. Construction is planned for 2020-2022.

The project for construction of an airport in Kazakhstan’s Turkestan’ city project oversees construction of an international airport in 2019-2021.

Within the framework of the introduction and adaptation of the paperless document turnover management system in the field of air cargo (e-Freight) project the information system was launched in test mode at all airports of the country with the participation of Kazakhstan airlines in March of this year.
