Trammo Inc. official: Georgia simple country in terms of doing business
BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 24
By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:
Georgia is free from corruption and is a simple country in terms of doing business, said William Markstein, Vice President and the Chief Financial Officer of Trammo (engaged in marketing, trading, and distribution of a number of commodities with a focus on anhydrous ammonia, sulfur, sulfuric acid, nitric acid and petroleum coke), Trend reports via Georgian media outlets.
He made the remark at the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum 2019, which took place in the Georgian capital on October 22-23.
Markstein talked about the prospect of creating a logistics center in Batumi.
He noted the transportation of goods from Central Asia - through Baku and by rail to Batumi. According to Markstein, work on the project is already underway.
“This is a very good project. As you know, the political situation in Iran is complicated, and we are confident that this route will be stable,“ he said.
According to Markstein, the strategic location of Georgia makes it very attractive and promising in terms of investments, especially for Asia-Europe transit routes.
The Tbilisi Silk Road Forum 2019 was held in the capital of Georgia. More than 2,000 delegates from 60 countries, including more than 30 official delegations, are participating in the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum this year.
