TEHRAN, Iran, Oct.25

Trend:

The production of "Pride" car series will be halted from December, said the CEO of Iranian automaker SAIPA.

"SAIPA has planned to stop the production with approval of Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade. The ministry announced that production of Pride model 132 will be halted in December 24, 2019, while production of other models will be stopped by May through June 2020," said Seyed Javad Soleimani, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"Due to international sanctions, domestic auto production has been reduced. This led to increase of demand, which created interruption in auto market. The production of Pride continues to deliver recently registered orders to customers on designated time," CEO added.

"The alternative for this model will be other products including Tiba, Saina and Quick that substitute Pride series. The average price of Pride vehicle is $7,000 for exports, it has been planned that current equipment and production line of Pride series will be exported after halt of domestic production," Soleimani indicated.
