An economic project on the construction of four new generation railway stations is on the agenda in Iran, Iranian Railways (RAI) CEO, Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran Saeed Rasouli said at the 7th edition of the International Union of Railways(UIC) Nextstation Conference held jointly by the UIC cand RAI, Trend reports via Mehr News Agency.
Rasouli noted that the RAI has made announcements on these projects and is waiting for investments.
Railway development is one of the main priorities of the Iranian Government, Rasouli said.
In recent years, four new railways have been commissioned in Iran, thus joining four provincial centers to the country's railway network, Rasouli added.
Iranian Railways is working on joint projects with neighboring countries in the field of freight and passenger transportation, the deputy minister noted.
The 7th edition of the UIC nextstation Conference is held in Tehran on Nov. 11-13, 2019.
