Iran's Kish Island has $7.1B worth of projects planned

Iran's Kish Free Zone needs an airport, and the zone has offered $71 million in bonds for the first time to build the Kish Island infrastructure, said the Managing Director of the zone Gholamhossein Mozafari, Trend reports via IRNA.

Mozafari said that the plans for Kisk Island and free zones there include $7.1 billion worth of projects, and about 284 different plans.

"Setting up 160 startup and knowledge-based companies in the Kish Technologic city are included in the plans," he said.

Among other plans for the zone are: issuing bonds, forming construction and land funds, launch of international stock exchange, setting up investment companies, and so on.

Mozafari added that representatives of Kish Island will showcase the island's capabilities at the "Kish Invex 2019: Banking Insurance Exhibition".

Kish Island is to host Invex exhibition on November 18 – 21, 2019 to present Iran's investment opportunities alongside exchange, banking insurance and privatization exhibition.

It is expected that 10 ambassadors and 5 attaches and 10 economic consultants have already expressed readiness to attend the exhibition, while 27 knowledge-based companies will also be present alongside 270 domestic and foreign companies.

More than 15 countries, and 40 international partners from 25 countries and 260 domestic companies would be part of the exhibition that includes more than 300 trade meetings and panels.
