The agreement on the establishment of a joint industrial park in Parsabad county of Iran’s northern Ardabil province is a positive step in the economic relations between Azerbaijan and Iran, Secretary General of the Iran-Azerbaijan Joint Chamber of Commerce from the Iranian side Hussein Vosuqi Irani told Trend.
“In accordance with the agreement, decisions about the territory and capabilities of the joint industrial park will be made at a meeting of the working group,” the secretary general said.
Vosuqi Irani said that Iranian and Azerbaijani manufacturers will jointly manufacture products in this industrial park.
“At the same time, Azerbaijani businessmen will export their products to Russia, the Caucasus and Central Asian countries,” the secretary general added. “These products will be available at very low prices. First of all, special attention will be made to the food production.”
“There are about eight kilometers from Iranian border to Azerbaijan’s Imishli district,” he added. “The products manufactured in the joint industrial park of the two countries will be transported by the Azerbaijani railway."
“The area was specially chosen for the industrial park,” Vosuqi Irani said. “A number of steps have been taken in this sphere.”
“The Iranian parliament made a decision to establish the Free Trade Zone in Ardabil province,” the secretary general added. “If the Guardian Council approves the decision, a commercial zone will be created in Ardabil province, including the area in which a joint industrial park will be located.”
Vosuqi Irani said that a number of legal restrictions, customs duties, trade interest (tax imposed in accordance with Iran's foreign trade law) are not applied in the Free Trade Zones.
An agreement on the establishment of a joint industrial park in Parsabad country of Ardabil province was reached between Iran's Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade Reza Rahmani and Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev during his visit to Iran.
Parsabad county is located in Iran’s northern Ardabil province. There are great opportunities for agricultural and food production in this county. The Mugan plate around Parsabad has great agricultural opportunities. Thus, it is possible to grow agricultural products three times a year in this area.
