A number of small industrial production enterprises are planned to be opened in Azerbaijan, Head of Azerbaijan's Women Entrepreneurs Association Sakina Babayeva told Trend.

According to Babayeva, the opening of new enterprises was planned as part of 11 projects envisaged in various segments of industry, agriculture and other areas with the participation of women entrepreneurs.

"This year, it was planned to implement 11 projects aimed at the development of women's entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan, of which three large-scale projects have already been completed. The rest are at various stages of implementation," Sakina Babayeva said.

"Currently, the association works closely with several leading European organizations that are directly involved in these projects. Next year, it is planned to open enterprises in the field of small and medium-sized businesses, mainly in Baku and regions."

"In particular, it is expected to open industrial enterprises in the Binagadi district of Baku, involving the creation of more than 2,000 jobs. Also, a factory for the production of cosmetic products will open in Sumgayit," Babayeva said.

She noted that all these enterprises will open starting in March-April of 2020.

According to Sakina Babayeva, the creation of small enterprises is important for the development of women's entrepreneurship in the regions, therefore, the Women Entrepreneurs Association is making efforts to improve the business environment in cities and regions through the implementation of projects aimed at improving the business climate in Azerbaijan.
