Production of major metals up in Iran

In the eighth month (from Oct.23 to Nov.21, 2019) of the current Iranian year, the aluminum bullion and copper concentrate production at Iran's main mining companies increased by 12 percent and 7 percent, respectively, compared to the same month last year, Trend reports referring to Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

According to the IMIDRO report, in the eighth month of the current Iranian year, Iran's large mining and mining industry companies produced 25,038 tons of aluminum bullion.

Moreover, in the reported month, the Iranian companies produced 19,782 tons of aluminum oxide.

In the eighth month of the current Iranian year, Iranian Aluminum Company (IRALCO) produced 14,679 tons of aluminum bullion, while Almahdi Aluminum Co. and Hormozal Company produced 5,140 tons and 4,311 tons of aluminum bullion, respectively.

According to the report, the copper concentrate production increased by 7 percent to 100,063 tons; however, the copper anode production dropped by 24 percent to 20,983 tons.

Meanwhile, the copper cathode production amounted to 19,578 tons, which is 9 percent less compared to the same month of the last Iranian year.

In the reported month, the molybdenum production increased by 33 percent and amounted to 793 tons.

Moreover, in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 to Nov. 21, 2019), Iran's aluminum bullion and copper concentrate production amounted to 171,334 tons and 791,443 tons, respectively.

Also, in the reported eight-month period, 5,425 tons of molybdenum were produced in Iran, which indicates 16 percent increase, compared to the same period of the previous Iranian year.
