Uzbekistan’s Association of Building Materials Industry Enterprises - Uzpromstroymaterialy Association - has exceeded the forecast plan for the export of building materials for 11 months of 2019, Trend reports citing the association.

With a plan of $74.1 million, the association’s enterprises exported building materials and services totaling $74.7 million.

During this period, building materials such as ceramic tiles were exported for $5.3 million, lime - $4.5 million, drywall - $3.9 million, paper products - $4.6 million, glass and glass products - $2.2 million, polypropylene pipes - $1 million, wallpaper - $1.6 million and others.

In addition to the traditional markets of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and Russia, new construction materials markets such as Azerbaijan, Georgia and China have been developed this year, the association reported.

Uzpromstroymaterialy was created by a resolution of the head of state on the basis of Uzstroimaterialy in February 2019.

The list of investment projects in the building materials industry was approved, which will include 67 investment projects for the technical and technological renovation of existing and the creation of new industries with a total value of $1.3 billion (including through foreign direct investment in the amount of $692 million).

The implementation of projects designed for 2019–2021 should lead to an increase in the production capacity of cement to 17 million tons by 2021, and for architectural and construction glass - 32 million square meters, chipboard – 380,000 cubic meters, aerated concrete blocks - 700,000 cubic meters, wallpaper - 4.5 million rolls and large-panel reinforced concrete products for the construction of multi-storey buildings - 180,000 square meters.

The implementation of projects designed for 2019–2021 should lead to an increase in the volume of cement production capacity to 17 million tons by 2021, and 32 million square meters for architectural and construction glass, particleboard – 380,000 cubic meters, aerated concrete blocks - 700,000 cubic meters, wallpaper - 4.5 million rolls, large-panel reinforced concrete products for the construction of multi-storey buildings - 180,000 square meters. meters.
