The consortium of Chinese companies China CAMC Engineering Co. LTD and HQC Shanghai Company completed the construction of a complex for the production of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), caustic soda and methanol in the Navoi region of Uzbekistan, Trend reports citing the press service of Uzbekistan’s President of Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

On December 28, the complex was put into operation in the presence of the President of Uzbekistan. The head of state launched the enterprise by pressing a symbolic button.

The complex will produce 100,000 tons of PVC, 75,000 tons of caustic soda, 300,000 tons of methanol per year. These products are in demand in the automotive industry, textile, metallurgical, chemical, oil and gas industries, electrical and construction industry. To date, these products were imported for foreign currency, and this was especially difficult for small businesses.

The complex for production of PVC, caustic soda and methanol will provide domestic enterprises with the necessary raw materials. An annual export of the products worth $40 million is planned and 900 new jobs have been created here.
