Iran talks new industrial, mining projects for Sistan & Baluchestan province

Licenses were issued for creation of 471 industrial and mining enterprises in Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan province in the first nine months (from March 21 to Dec. 21, 2019) of the current Iranian year, Head of Sistan and Baluchestan Industry, Mine and Trade Organization Mahmoud Reza Rahmatian said, Trend reports with reference to the organization's website.

In total, 23 trillion rials (roughly $547 million) are planned to be invested in these projects, Rahmatian said.

The number and received investments of issued licenses in the industrial sector increased by 20 percent and 189 percent, respectively, compared to the same period of the previous year, Rahmatian said.

Meanwhile, the number and received investments of issued licenses in the mining sector increased by 76 percent and 75 percent, respectively, compared to the same period of the previous year, the head of the organization added.

Rahmatian noted that the amount of the reserves at the mines explored in the Sistan and Baluchestan province equals to 1.1 billion tons.

The mines with total reserves of 762 million tons are currently being exploited, the head of the organization said, adding that licenses have been issued for the exploitation of other mines with total reserves of 362 million tons.

A total of 7,227 people have been employed in the province's mining sector, Rahmatian said.
