Number of enterprises with the participation of foreign capital in Uzbekistan amounted to 11,000 as of February 1, 2020, Trend reports citing the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
The report stressed that 10,600 enterprises are operating around the country. This indicator increased by 3,000 or 37 percent compared to 2019. In January 2020, 255 enterprises were established with participation of foreign capital.
As follows from the published information, the majority of such enterprises are owned by Russia (1864), Turkey (1690), China (1306), Kazakhstan (827) and Korea (824).
At the same time 3,597 joint ventures/foreign enterprises with CIS countries are operating. The main share of enterprises with CIS countries is (for enterprises with common foreign capital) Russia (17.6 percent), Kazakhstan (7.8 percent), Azerbaijan (1.7 percent), Kyrgyzstan (1.5 percent) and Tajikistan (1.5 percent).
As of 1 February 2019, Tashkent city accounts for 6,253 operating enterprises with foreign capital (59 percent of the total number). In addition to Tashkent city, four regions preferred foreign investments, include Tashkent province, which has 1,170 operating enterprises with foreign capital (11 percent) and Samarkand province, which has 516 (4.9 percent).
The State Statistics Committee stressed that most of the operating enterprises with foreign capital are in industry – 3,758 and trade – 2,645.
