Trade turnover between Georgia and Italy declines

In 2019, trade turnover between Georgia and Italy fell by 3 percent to $ 266.4 million, while in 2018 it amounted to $274.7 million, Trend reports citing the Georgian National Statistical Office (Geostat).

The value of exported goods from Georgia to Italy last year amounted to $40.3 million, and import - $226.1 million.

In 2019, Georgia exported to Italy nuts worth $14.4 million; mineral or chemical fertilizers - $3 million; timber - $2.5 million; men's work wear - $1.7 million; costumes, dresses - $1.5 million; precious metals - $1.5 million; sweaters, pullovers and knitted fabrics - $1.3 million; pipes and hollow sections - $1.1 million; ferroalloys - $1.1 million.

In 2019, Georgia imported from Italy central heating boilers worth $7.1 million; shoes - $6.1 million; dishwashers - $6 million; furniture - $5.1 million; taps, valves and similar fittings for pipes, boilers - $4.9 million; trucks - $ 4.7 million; packaged medicines - $4 million; plants - $4 million; refrigerators, freezers - $3.7 million; pumps - $3.7 million.

In 2019, foreign trade turnover (excluding undeclared trade) in Georgia amounted to $12.8 billion, which is 2.7 percent more than in 2018.

Exports amounted to $3.7 billion (12.4 percent more), while imports - $9.1 billion (0.8 percent lower).
