Deficit of foreign trade turnover of Georgia in February 2020 increased by 14.8 percent compared to the same period last year and amounted to $440.1 million, Trend reports with reference to National Bank of Georgia.
During the reporting period, exports of goods decreased by 0.5 percent and amounted to $263.6 million, while imports grew by 8.6 percent, amounting to $703.7 million.
According to the bank, a decrease in export revenue was largely conditioned by the decrease in exports to Russia.
During the reporting period, Georgia increased export of goods to Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Moldova. Among the EU member states, the export of Georgian goods has increased significantly to Bulgaria and Romania.
In February 2020, the top countries where Georgia exported its goods included Azerbaijan, Russia, Bulgaria, China, Ukraine and Turkey.
