By Tamilla Mammadova - Trend:

The credit limit for participating in the state program titled "Produce in Georgia” has been reduced to 50,000 lari ($15,923), Trend reports citing Georgian media.

This will enable more companies to participate in the program, said the Produce in Georgia agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.

“We are also thinking of increasing the percentage of complicity. At the beginning, it was 7 percent. Now we live in a different reality, and the percentage should be adapted to it. In addition, we plan to increase the period of subsidizing strategic products from two years to three years. All our programs will be restructured in such a way as to ease the existing situation for companies," said Mikhail Khidureli, director of the Produce in Georgia agency.

In his words, the lower credit limit required to participate in our programs has been reduced to 50,000 lari ($15,923).

The director added that special attention will be paid to such strategic products as food, drinks, disinfectants, medical equipment, etc.

According to Khidureli, companies producing mineral waters, building materials, as well as the operating in agricultural processing industry will also have the opportunity to receive state funding.

As of 2020, the budget of the Produce in Georgia agency is 57.5 million lari ($18.3 million).
