Uzbekistan expands business relations with Russian retailers

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 5

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Moscow and the Consulates General of Uzbekistan in Russian regions have stepped up their activities in the trade and economic sphere, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.

At the federal level, X5 Retail (more than 16 thousand stores, supermarkets and hypermarkets), Magnit (more than 20 thousand retail outlets), Alphabet of Taste (130 premium stores), Vkusvil (over 900 shops), Auchan (314 supermarkets and hypermarkets) and other big Russian retail outlets are considered as potential partners.

Uzbek representatives also held a series of negotiations with trade holdings such as Yarche! (750 stores), Siberian Giant (33 stores), Titan (68 stores), Maria RA (1,166 stores), Monetka (1,512 stores), Edelweiss (60 supermarkets) and others.

"More than 200 commercial proposals were received from entrepreneurs of the country only in April 2020. Due to the efforts of diplomatic missions, 43 export contracts worth $86 million have been concluded, under which products worth $3.1 million have already been shipped," it was reported.

For the purpose of systematization of work with importers of Russia, the embassy considers the issue of launching information portal of exporters of Uzbekistan. It will place commercial proposals coming to the diplomatic missions, announcements of exporters, analytics and infographics on Uzbek foreign economic activity.
