Representatives of Uzbekistan held negotiations with Italian Italcarni Holding Group through a video conference, Trend reports citing the Uzbek media.
Uzbek side was represented by City Hall of Namangan region, the State Veterinary Committee of Uzbekistan, the Uzbekchorvanasl Agency, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade and the Center for the development of investment projects of Uzbekistan.
The sides discussed issues related to the implementation of the project for meat processing and meat production in the Namangan region, the message said.
"The parties exchanged views on the start of developing a joint project for the production and processing of meat in the Namangan region. The main criteria necessary for the successful implementation of this project, both at the regional and republican levels, were discussed. City hall of the Namangan region, expressed readiness to provide the necessary assistance in resolving organizational issues, including determining the location for the construction of a livestock farm, as well as the sale of meat products on the markets," the message said.
Following the talks, the Italian side supported the proposal on the expediency of the early development of the project, taking into account the experience of previous projects of Italcarni Holding Group.
"It was also agreed to organize a visit of Italcarni Holding Group specialists to Uzbekistan to familiarize themselves with the local market and develop a business plan for the implementation of the project," the message said.
