Volume of loaded, unloaded cargo in Iranian ports decreases

The volume of loaded and unloaded cargo in Iranian ports has amounted to 15.13 million tons from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020) to May 13, Trend reports citing Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) of Iran.

The volume of loaded and unloaded cargo at Iranian ports has decreased by 35.4 percent compared to the same period of last Iranian year. During the same period of last Iranian year, 23.42 million tons were loaded and unloaded, according to the report.

The cargoes were loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports in Abadan, Astara, Imam Khomeini, Amirabad, Anzali, Bushehr, Jask, Chabahar, Khorramshahr, Shahid Bahonar, Shahid Rajaee, Fereydunkenar, Qeshm, Ganaveh, Lengeh, Neka and Bushehr.

During the reporting period, 4.94 million tons of oil were loaded and unloaded. This is a decrease of 24 percent compared to the same period of last Iranian year (6.50 million tons).

The volume of twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) container shipments amounted to 0.18 million tons during the reporting period. This is a decrease by 34 percent compared to the same period of last Iranian year (over 0.28 million tons).

The volume of other container shipments was 1.99 million tons, which is 43.2 percent less than in the same period of the last Iranian year (3.50 million tons).

The general cargo volume was 1.52 million tons. This is a decrease by 50.1 percent compared to the same period of the last Iranian year (3.05 million tons).

Dry bulk cargo volume was 6.29 million tons. This is a decrease of 34.4 percent compared to the same period of the last Iranian year (over 9.59 million tons).

Liquid bulk cargo was 0.39 million tons. This is 49.8 percent less than in the same period of the last Iranian year (0.78 million tons).
