The State Social Protection Fund (SSPF) of Azerbaijan Republic under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population paid out social security payments to more than 2.3 million people in May, the ministry told Trend.
According to report, of these people, 1,268,000 people received pensions, 417,000 people received social benefits and 297,000 people received scholarships. About 350,000 family members from 83,000 families received targeted social assistance.
“The number of people receiving social payments in May increased by 148,000 (6.8 percent) compared to the same month last year,” report added.
“Last month, a total of 474 million manat ($278.8 million) was allocated to finance pensions, social benefits, scholarships and targeted social assistance. This an increase by 94 million manat ($55 million), or a 24.8-percent increase compared to the corresponding figure for 2019,” report said.
